Williamson County’s contractor Hunter Industries is scheduled to set up a night time closure on the outside right two lanes on IH 35 southbound main lanes between SH 29 and RM 2243/Leander Road. This work will take place on Sunday, October 11, between 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.  Expect delays.

Survey activity is underway for the proposed Hairy Man Road/Brushy Creek Road project. The work will include a topographical survey, the identification and marking of trees along the corridor, and the locating of existing property corners between Walsh Drive and Sam Bass Road. The surveyor began work setting survey points and locating property corners starting at Sam Bass Road and will work his way towards Walsh Drive.  This work began September 24, 2015, and will also continue through October 2 during the day from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All work to be completed at this time will be within existing right of way.

The public is invited to an Open House on October 15, 2015, presenting proposed improvements to RM 620 from Cornerwood Drive to Deep Wood Drive, a distance of approximately 2.74 miles.  The Open House will be held at the Allen R. Baca Center located at 301 W. Bagdad Ave., Bldg. 2, Round Rock, Texas, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Williamson County, in conjunction with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), will conduct the Open House to gather public input and comments for the project.

Williamson County is amending the Long-Range Transportation Plan, originally adopted in October 2009. The County will be holding public meetings to gather input on the changes on Wednesday, September 30, and Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, Georgetown, in the Commissioners Courtroom on the second floor. To learn more and make comments, click here.

The CAMPO Transportation Policy Board is seeking public comment regarding the selection of bicycle and pedestrian projects to receive federal Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funding. CAMPO invites the public to review and comment on the proposed projects from September 4 to October 2, 2015. Information and the online survey are available here. Williamson County has two projects under consideration for funding.

Williamson County’s contractor Hunter Industries is scheduled to permanently close the existing entrance ramp to Interstate Highway 35 just south of Inner Loop on Monday, August 10, 2015.  All northbound frontage road traffic will have to proceed north through the intersection at Inner Loop and enter IH 35 at the new entrance ramp south of RM 2243 (Leander Road). This closure provides a safe work zone for the contractors to remove the existing ramp and construct the new Northbound Exit Ramp 259B. An electronic message board will be set to provide advance notification to the public for this ramp closure.  No traffic delays are anticipated due to the planned ramp closure. This work will be completed in approximately four weeks weather permitting.

Williamson County’s contractor Kwest Group is scheduled to close a portion of CR 245 beginning on Monday, August 17, 2015. The portion of CR 245 that will be closed is between RM 2338 and the New Georgetown Church located at 375 CR 245. The dates for this closure will be from August 17 through September 25, 2015 (weather permitting). This closure is required to provide a safe work zone to reconstruct a portion of existing CR 245 and construct drainage features for the CR 245 realignment project. There will be a detour set up with advanced warning signs showing the temporary route. The

detour route is as follows: From RM 2338, proceed past CR 245 2.1 miles and turn right onto Ronald Reagan Boulevard.  Take Ronald Reagan Blvd 1.7 miles to CR 245.  Take a right onto CR 245 to access the portion of CR 245 between RM 2338 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard. Access to existing driveways will be maintained at all times.
