This RM 620 project is approximately 2.74 miles in length and is made up of two segments.
Segment 1 (Cornerwood Drive to Wyoming Springs Drive):
This segment of roadway is a TxDOT project to restripe the existing four lane section to a six lane section. Sidewalks along the north side of RM 620 in this segment are also planned; however funding has not been identified at this time.
Segment 2 (Wyoming Springs Drive to Deep Wood Drive):
This segment of roadway is a Williamson County project to widen the roadway from four to six lanes and will include new curb and gutter and a raised median. This segment will also include left and right-hand turn lanes, culverts, water-quality facilities, retaining walls and construction of sidewalk along the north side of RM 620 to fill in the current gaps.
Williamson County’s contractor Cox Commercial is scheduled to set a long term, full closure of Oakwood Blvd at RM 620 for the purpose of installing drainage structures.
The closure of Oakwood Blvd at RM 620 has been extended. The road will be closed from Monday, September 18, to Monday, October 2. Traffic will be detoured to Oaklands Drive which is located just east of Oakwood Blvd. Access to driveways and the other side streets within the project limits will be maintained at all times.
Traffic will be detoured to from Oakwood Blvd to Oaklands Drive via RM 620 or from Oak Park Drive and Spring Hollow Path. Electronic message boards are in place along RM 620 to provide advance notification of closure. To view the detour route, click here.
The City of Round Rock is installing a new waterline across the Oakwood intersection. The installation of the new waterline includes a water shut down to connect the new pipe into the existing waterline system. The existing waterline along RM 620 will be shut down Wednesday night, Sept. 20, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday morning. This shut out mainly affects some businesses along 620.
