Description The City of Georgetown is planning a multi-lane, arterial roadway on new location. This project will be divided up into multiple projects that will be designed and constructed separately.
Status

Segment 1 of the Southwest Bypass project is the construction of a new two lane roadway from IH 35 to 3,100 feet west.  Design is complete and construction is anticipated to start in the summer of 2017 and take a year to complete.

Segment 2

is the construction of a new two lane roadway from RM 2243 to 3,500 feet east.  This will complete the roadway from RM 2243 to IH-35. An Access Route along Segment 2 (into the quarry bottom) will be constructed to allow for environmental studies, design, and to assist with Segment 1 construction.  The construction contract for the Access Route into the quarry was awarded to Jordan Foster with construction anticipated to begin in June 2017 and be completed by August 2017.  Segment 2 construction is anticipated to start after Segment 1 is complete and take approximately 21 months to complete.
